Michael B. Schiff
Mr. Schiff, Partner, founded the company and has been involved in the real estate industry for over 30 years. Mr. Schiff later was employed by a large local apartment builder/operator in key management positions. Prior to forming Intervest Companies, he was Executive Vice-President of Hemisphere Equity Investors, Inc., a multi-faceted real estate company developing large projects in several states. He acquired his first apartment property over 30 years ago and has been active in the acquisition, ownership and operation of thousands of multi-family units.
Mr. Schiff has also been involved in the formation of several financial
institutions including a successful savings and loan association as
well as a national bank, serving on these institution’s Executive
Committees, Boards of Directors, and Loan Committees. Mr. Schiff has
served on the Board of Directors of various civic, professional and business
organizations including the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas.
John A. Raphael
John A. Raphael, a native of Dallas, Texas, obtained an M.B.A. Degree
from the University of Texas and was licensed as a C.P.A. Mr. Raphael
joined the “Big-8” accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co., where
he became an audit practice partner. Mr. Raphael joined Intervest
Companies in 1981 as a partner.
Mr. Raphael was also involved in the organization of a national
bank and served on its Loan Committee, served on the Board of Directors
and Loan Committee of a profitable $500 million financial institution
and has served as a Director of a profitable restaurant chain.
Mr. Raphael has been active in numerous professional and civic organizations
including serving on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Theater
Center, President of the Dallas Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League,
member of the Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas, and President
of the University of Texas M.B.A. Club of Dallas.
John J. Wilson
Mr. Wilson obtained an accounting degree from the University of Texas
at Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant. Upon graduation,
he joined the “Big-8” international accounting firm of Arthur Young & Co.
While at Arthur Young & Co., Mr. Wilson supervised numerous audits
including airlines, financial institutions, large manufacturing concerns,
and non-profit entities. His experience there included S.E.C. regulatory
reporting and analysis of troubled financial institutions.
Mr. Wilson later joined Intervest Companies as controller and subsequently
became a partner. He is currently President of Intervest Property
Company, Inc., and has had overall responsibility for the management
and operation of thousands of apartment units. Mr. Wilson has also
directed Intervest’s development efforts which have included the construction
of Class-A apartment properties, office buildings, and the Bradford
HomeSuites hotel chain.
Tracy Glover
Tracy Glover is responsible for identifying new business opportunities
for Intervest, arranging partnerships and raising equity for the
company’s various projects. Prior to joining Intervest, Ms. Glover
was the owner and president of a local residential development company
building select, infill, luxury townhomes and condominiums.
During the 80s and 90s, Ms. Glover was an international management
consultant to Wall Street firms in global expanding markets. Her experience
includes extensive transactions with global investment and financial
service institutions at the time (i.e., Goldman Sachs, GE Capital,
JP Morgan, Sanford Bernstein, etc.). Ms. Glover has also served in
various civic capacities including a role as a Board Member of a Dallas
private school and in fund raising capacities for Wednesday’s Child
and has been a patron of the Dallas Museum of Art and the Museum of
Science and Nature.
David Simmons
David Simmons is involved in the feasibility, financial analysis,
zoning, and entitlement process for numerous land acquisitions for
commercial and residential developments. Mr. Simmons received a
finance degree from Texas Christian University and an M.B.A from
the University of Texas at Tyler. Prior to joining Intervest, Mr.
Simmons was involved in sales, in-house design, and construction
management for Simmons & Associates, a design/build general contractor
serving the East Texas area. In addition to being licensed as real
estate broker in the State of Texas, Mr. Simmons has also earned
the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation, one of the
most respected designations in the real estate industry, from the
CCIM Institute. Mr. Simmons is a member of the North Texas CCIM Chapter
and an affiliate member of the National Association of Realtors.
