Intervest Companies was founded over 30 years ago in Dallas, Texas. Originally, the company was primarily involved in the investment and operation of multi-family properties, subsequently acquiring and managing thousands of multi-family units throughout the state. Over the years, the company has expanded its operational and investment expertise to include all aspects of real estate investments, development and operations, as well as the takeover, turnaround, and subsequent sale of real estate assets and large financial institutions during the RTC and FDIC period of the early 1990’s.
Intervest, through its ownership interest of a successful federal savings bank was involved in the acquisition of $300 million+ in mortgage portfolios. Intervest subsequently sold the successful financial institution for a substantial profit.
With equity and debt capital from a pension fund partner, Intervest developed the Bradford Hotel brand, which resulted in a chain of hotels developed and operated in select locations in Colorado and Texas. This hotel company was sold at the peak of the market in the mid 1990’s.
